The Leadership Rice Mentorship Experience (LRME) is a paid, summer internship program for returning Rice undergraduates who wish to develop their professional, personal, and civic capacities through the mentorship of experienced professionals. The CCL works closely with mentors to offer internships that provide meaningful and challenging work. Placements are in the public, private, and non-profit sectors in Houston, Austin, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and Boston. Participating mentors agree to oversee the student's professional and personal development.
Beyond the mentored internship, the student experience includes a course (LEAD 250 2 hour credit) that develops the motivation, knowledge, and skills to exercise civic leadership and civic professionalism. The primary objectives of the course are:
